Fasting at Pujjis was an absolutely great thing to do. I learnt about my relationship with food and how I'm going to live healthy when I leave this beautiful, safe place. I also learnt how good I felt after not eating for a couple of days and it was great to feel my body detoxing. I learnt that when I'm nicer to my body, my body is much nicer to me! And that is a great feeling! I will always remember this great place as the "day my life changed". quote

The atmosphere and the environment made it easy for me to cocoon myself and focus solely on my purpose, which was to cleanse my body. I got fresh juices, fresh food, fresh air and fresh ideas. I felt safe and comfortable in this home that allowed me to share conversations that I don't usually get in my life. I realised how much I crave good, honest and open communication in my life.quote

I entered my fasting experience, given that it was my first ever, with a good deal of trepidation. As the days progressed however I continued to feel safely held in the experienced hands of Jane and of the whole process she'd put in place. I felt really supported and at the end I recognised that I had developed a deeper relationship and trust in my body and in life.quote

More about Fasting

What fasting does?Fasting enhances the natural bodily function of eliminating toxic waste from the body. It helps to clean and detoxify our entire digestive tract, our blood and tissue. Fasting also gives our organs a rest so they can provide healing and rejuvenation. A successful fast improves our health and wellbeing and leaves us feeling lighter, younger, happier and at peace in our bodies and minds.

When is the time to fast? Many symptoms let us know that it is time to fast.
Constipation, stomach bloating, fatigue, poor skin (pimples, eczema, dry skin), lower back pain, body odour, bad breath, poor digestion, gas, weight gain, depression, food cravings and food intolerance. When you are feeling a lack of clarity in your life, when it is time to let go and move on, when it is time for a fresh start. And sometimes, when you have a gut feeling that it is time for a cleanse.

How fasting worksThe body cleans itself through four organs and the lymph system:
1 –skin through sweating
Daily sauna and hot tub
2 –kidney through urinating
Drinking organic juices, plenty of water and herbal teas
3 –intestines through defecating
Twice daily enemas
4 –lungs through breathing
Exercise and yoga each day
5 –Lymph system through movement
Yoga and exercise each day and massage

The Pujjis fasting programmeA prefast cleansing diet is recommended and we will send you the details of this after you have booked. When you arrive, we will provide you with a light meal the night before the fast begins, after which you will stop eating and move to a liquid diet. Organic fruit and vegetable juices, cleansing herbs and teas and purified water are used to maintain a balanced energy level in your body.

Each of your body's cleansing organs ie colon, bladder, lungs, skin, lymphatic system are supported using a variety of cleansing practices and techniques – daily sauna, hot tub, skin brushing, yoga and movement classes, breathing practices, enemas and a range of yogic practices are offered under close supervision.

Close attention is given to your emotional and psychological processes during the entire course of your fast, providing support and encouragement when needed.Last but not least, at the end, you are carefully guided to break your fast under supervision while you are still here. Helpful suggestions regarding food and healthy eating habits are given to help you maintain the benefits gained during your fast. The atmosphere at Pujjis Wellness Retreat is relaxing and fun, with plenty of time to rest or enjoy interacting with others as well as ample time to be by yourself.
