Quality relationships with core people is my main priority in life. Hence my grief that my number one relationship was unworkable and unbearable. Thirty years of marriage later, our pain was apparent to all.

I was being treated for physical pain by Arvind Pujji and he asked if I would like to address the emotional pain that was causing the physical symptoms. Having tried everything else, I agreed and am so glad I did. It was upsetting to face the issues, as our relationship was not dead and cold, but hot with anger. It was frightening to consider stirring things up even more. But we had not been able to solve it, despite being well-resourced with a lifetime of self help books, several counselors and talks with knowledgeable and sensitive friends.

In the end, my experience with Arvind led us to trust him and we are so glad we did. His solutions are different. Instead of avoiding vulnerability and pain his belief is that this is the place of connection. I feel that we have a chance because of Arvind's skill. It was life changing having three days at Pujjis Wellness Retreat, and it's an experience that we intend to repeat. Relationships like this are worth investing in, for all kinds of reasons.quote

We have been recognised as the first Wellness retreats in New Zealand to be endorsed as a visitor activity by Tourism New Zealand standards authority, as well as receiving 4 star plus for our accommodation. We are dedicated to sustainable tourism and best practice ethics. We were one of the first businesses in Nelson to gain sustainable certification as part of a join venture between Department of Tourism and Department for the Environment.

Arvind and Jane Pujji

In 1997 we married and marriage counseling became a living experience for us. Together we began our joint careers in teaching workshops and trainings in self awareness, yoga therapy and bodywork. Marriage Counseling retreats evolved from our working with couples as well as individuals committed to healing their relationships and empowering themselves. Appreciating the need for couples to take time to nurture their relationship and to be supported, we established Pujjis Wellness Retreat.

It was during our years of working with people, whether it was in our private practices, while teaching our course and trainings or people staying at our retreat, that over and over we came to the same conclusion. Whatever is happening in ourselves and our lives affects our intimate relationships. Working with people individually could be rewarding and productive. However, working with couples was profound and immensely satisfying. Eventually, things would come back to relationship, and as time went by, this is more and more where we focused our attention.

We have both studied conscious communication and various counseling modalities over the years that have been helpful when guiding people through the relationship maze. Years of experience working with people has also been invaluable. It was however, learning and growing through the conflicts in our own relationship that has been our greatest teacher.
